How to find accommodation and Job in Sydney
Sydney is very popular destination among visitors and students, it is well known to all so I would not go in details about Sydney and famous places such as Opera or harbour, instead in this article I will explain facilities in Sydney and where to live.
People choose place to live according to their needs, do you have children and can not afford to send your child to private school? then you may like to live good public school catchment area. If school is not your priority, then you may choose to live near your workplace to minimise travelling time. If you work in city and do not have children, you may like to live in city so you can enjoy city life as well as save time travelling to work.
Transport: Let’s start with public transport. Transport NSW provides all information about travelling. You can use transport NSW website to check what options you have available for travel and how long it takes you from one place to another.
Accommodation: You can rent whole place to just a room depends on your needs. If you like to rent house, I recommend checking listing on real-estate website. If you like to share room, you can look on flatmate website. Be careful, always inspect place and meet person before giving any deposit. I personally like to live in bigger suburbs such as Parramatta, Blacktown, Liverpool, Campbeltown, Chatswood, Hornsby, Epping etc. You can also look on gumtree for accommodation.
Finding Work: The best website to find work in Australia is seek. Sometimes some employers advertise on gumtree. Again, be careful, never give your credit card details, employer should never ask for credit card details.
If you are interested in retails career look career section on woolwroths, coles and ALDI.
If you are interested in professional jobs, I recommend sending your resume directly to recruitment agencies.
It is easy to find jobs in disability support, childcare as well as aged care. You would need to do at least certificate 3 course. I recommend doing this from TAFE instead of private colleges.
Don’t forget to be part of Indians in Australia group. People are very helpful, and you can ask questions. You can like Indians in Australia page and join Indians in Australia group.
