If you have purchased sliced mushroom recently from Woolworths, Coles or ALDI you might want to check carefully as some packets may have plastic pieces.
The recall is being conducted by Mushroom exchange, a costa group company who provides packed mushroom to all major super markets.
The mushroom being recalled are sold under the branding of Coles, Woolworths, Karidale (in Aldi) and Costa Mushrooms (independent) in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania and ACT.
The products are 200g, 375g and 500g mushroom punnets with Best Before or Use By dates up to and including July 19, 2018.
Customers should return the packs to the store of purchase for a refund.
In a statement Costa said: “Following discovery of damage to plastic rollers on a packaging line at its Victorian mushroom production facility, the Costa Mushroom category has issued a consumer alert advising that some punnets of sliced mushrooms could contain large pieces of white plastic, and that the product is being recalled.
