They are doing research and his project is “Understanding medication taking behaviour in Indian immigrants with type 2 diabetes- a qualitative study”. The purpose of this interview-based study is to investigate patients’ (Indian immigrants in Australia with diabetes) understanding of the Australian healthcare system, their medication taking behaviour, disease management, and health promotion. The findings from this first part of the research will be used to develop interventions that would help increase patient’s knowledge and understanding of the healthcare system, diabetes and its management. This study is being conducted by Mr Akram Ahmad (akram.ahmad@sydney.edu.au) as part of his Doctoral thesis, under the supervision of Professor Parisa Aslani, Professor in Medicines Use Optimisation, Faculty of Pharmacy (Email: parisa.aslani@sydney.edu.au).
