An Indian mother found dead in a Wheelie bin near Melbourne

An Indian mother Chaithanya Madhagani’s body found in a wheelie bin near Winchelsea, about 90 kilometres south-west of Melbourne. She has been remembered as a lovely and friendly person.

The body of Ms Madhagani was discovered about midday on Saturday on Mount Pollock Road in Buckley, near the town of Winchelsea. A second crime scene was established at Mirka Way in Point Cook, where Ms Madhagani lived with her husband and son.
The community is in shock following the death of Chaithanya Madhagani.

Ms Madhagani and her family had lived in Point Cook for at least three years, the neighbour said.

A Victoria Police spokesperson earlier said there was no immediate threat to the community and no arrests had been made.

“At this stage in the investigation, it is believed the parties involved are known to one another and the offender may have fled overseas,” the spokeswoman said.

“There is no immediate threat to the community and no arrests have been made.”

A neighbour who was close to Ms Madhagani said, “She was extremely intelligent, just loved her life and was really creative in how she did things,” she said. “You need to have dignity in life and in death … that’s been taken away from her.”
