attempted kidnapping in Burwood




Girls always be careful if you are walking alone the on quiet street.

NSW Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping after a woman was dragged into a car at Burwood on the weekend.

About 10.15am on Sunday 4 June 2017, a 27-year-old woman was walking on the footpath in Burwood Crescent towards the railway station.

As she reached the Park Road intersection she was approached by a man who spoke to her.

The woman attempted to walk around the man and he immediately grabbed her and dragged her towards a car on the opposite side of the road.

The man punched the woman in the face and threw her into the rear of the car.

A witness driving past stopped to assist. The woman ran from the rear of car and the man drove off.

The incident was reported to police and an investigation commenced by Burwood detectives.

The man is described as being aged in his mid 20’s, Caucasian appearance, about 180-190cm tall with a muscular build. At the time he was wearing a dark blue coat.

He was driving a blue 2007 model Holden Captiva SUV with QLD registration plates 362RUL.

Police are warning members of the public not to approach this vehicle and call Triple Zero ‘000’ immediately if sighted.
