Indian man, Dharmvir Singh, 38 and his father, Gurjinder Singh, 65, from Clyde North in Victori, drowned in a hotel pool on the Gold Coast. They were on holiday with family in Gold Coast and staying at the top of the apartment hotel in Surfers Paradise.

Dharmvir’s two years old daughter slipped into the pool and both men rushed to the girl’s rescue but soon both got into trouble in the deep end of the pool.

The toddler was pulled from the water without any physical injury, but her father and grandfather both drowned. The paramedics performed CPR on both men but could not be saved and both were pronounced dead at the scene.

“It’s an extremely emotional scene. Anyone could understand that not just to lose one family member but to lose two family members,” Ware said.

“These incidents can have long-lasting effects for not just the family members involved, but also the people that were at the scene as well, and also the first responders.”
