More than 70 call center staff arrested in Mumbai




Mumbai Police have arrested more than 70 call center staffs including top officials and executives from thane’s Mira Road office.

In the statement police said they carried out the raid after they received complaints of fraud. The call center staff repotedly collected bank details of US citizen, pretending to be tax officials and threaten them with legal action.

As per report the call center staff then used all these banking and personal details to withdraw money from accounts, estimated to be over 1 crore Indian rupees.

Police believes this racket may have international link.

Recently in Australia some people had received calls, pretending to be immigration officers and asking them to pay money otherwise threaten them to deport from the country.

People should never give their personal details to over phone. If they receive this type of call they should get callers details and then tell them you will call them back.
