Strike at International Airport

The Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection employees have announced plans for strike action across various Australian sites from 26 September through to 9 October 2016.  As per australian government website this strike will affect all states in Australia.




Union representatives have given notice of work stoppages at all Department of Immigration and Border Protection work areas, in all states, including international airports, client service centres, ports, container examination facilities and international mail facilities.

What Travellers can do ?

Travellers should check with their relevant airport/airline websites for updates. Passengers arriving or departing on international flights across these dates should expect delays and allow for extra time.
