Urgent eggs Recall Across Australia

Food standard Australia and New Zealand issued the warning this morning due to potential microbial salmonella contamination. Shoppers across the country are being warned for below brand eggs.

If you have bought any of these eggs you can return for full refund. No other egg products sold by supermarket are affected. No Coles band products are affected.

Victoria’s chief health officer Dr Brett said the department had identified five cases of illness which could be linked to this strain of salmonella.

“People should avoid raw egg products particularly if they are vulnerable such as those with compromised immune systems, under two or over 70 years of age or pregnant woman” Dr Sutton said.

In January there were 412 cases of salmonella according to NSW Health data.
