Am i eligible for $1500 Jobkeeper Payment ?

The federal government unveiled total 83.6 billion stimulus package to save Australia from going into recession and helping Australians. Eligible Australians will get money in their bank account for next 6 months. From 31^st march eligible Australians will get $750 in their bank account. Today I will talk about two main government payments:

Jobseeker Payment and Job keeper Payment.

Job Seeker Payment:

If you are Parament, part time or casual employee and have lost job due to Coronavirus crisis you are eligible to apply for job seeker payment. You must need to meet some rules.

• You must be between age 22 and age pension age
• Your income is under the test limits
• You must meet residency rule (must be Australian citizen or residence)
• Centrelink income test limit

If you meet criteria you may be eligible to get payment. You must apply through MyGov account or by calling to Centrelink.

• Login to My Gov account
• Click on Centrelink
• Here you will see two Forms
• Jobseeker Payment and Early Sper Access Payment
• Click on Jobseeker Payment if you want to apply for Jobseeker Payment
• Your details phone number, email address, DOB will appear and click Submit
• Someone from Centrelink will call you in next couple of days to check if you are eligible

Jobseeker Payment:

Government wants all people in their current role and that’s why helping Australian businesses with Job keeper Payment. Under this payment eligible Australians will get $1500 fortnight for next 6 months. This payment will come from your employer. Criteria for Jobseeker Payment.

• You must be employed by eligible employer at 1^st March 2020
• You can be sole traders, Part- or full-time employee or long-term casual employee for more than 12 months as at 1^st March 2020
• Must be over 16 years of age
• Must be Australia citizen, Permanent Visa holder and other special visas and have been living in Australia for more than 10 years

Government will be helping Business with their employee wages so this payment will come from your employer. You must contact your employer to find out if they are eligible and if you will get payment or not. Most of businesses will be eligible so most of all Australians who were working as at 1^st March may get this payment.
